It's getting cold. A sure sign that says, summer is REALLY over. Aw. I just had one of the best summers eveeeer!
I was glad to end my Psych rotation, which was seriously a total bore for me. I was so eager to start the summer with so many things planned. Sure, I didn't get a summer job as planned, but I got to do so many things. Uh, not necessarily productive ones. But things you normally do during summer. Haha!
I got to read almost everything on my book list. Many thanks to the public library I didn't have to buy books from the bookstore. I rediscovered the beauty of reserving books and picking it up days after. Several times, I got to sit for hours in some Barnes&Noble bookstore reading as much books and scrapbookings magazines as I could.
I've tried and cooked many several experimental dishes. A lot of which my family actually loved. My best one yet was probably that Baked Macaroni from a week ago. Ooh, and those chocolate crinkles.
Several times, I've gone to the mall with my sister and/or friends with no particular plan really. Just walking around, going inside fitting rooms, fitting clothes, taking pictures, and of course eating. I've spent so much money (the little I have) on frappuccinos and taro milk teas.
For the first time in many years, I've gone swimming in the beach. Not once, but actually thrice. I thought it was actually more than that. Philippine beaches are still so much better, but good company made up for it. Even if we were foolish enough to substitute tanning lotion with Coke. Or maybe even ride that damned ferris wheel in Coney Island. Nothing still beats jumping (and surfing? HAHA) the waves and smashing each other's bump cars while screaming our hearts out.
Central Park also has never been so memorable, what with the start of our picture addiction. And hello, Sanga Girls. Hahahaha! :) That long walk to Saigon Grill at 82nd and not to mention the longer wait for a table for 9, sealed the deal of friendship.
Now, Fridays don't necessarily mean sleeping in and doing nothing. It's actually reserved for taro slushes in the afternoon while having a TFC/GMA tv show marathon until 730 when Bible study starts. Of course, there'll be many picture taking sessions in the middle.
And then, there's my messed-up-yet-perfect sleeping cycle. Sleeping at 3 or 4 am and the 3 to 5-hour afternoon "power naps" with my sister. Yes, it was messed up. Yes, it gave me eyebags. But hey, it worked to my advantage. On my last vacation, I fell in love with the guy I'm with. This summer vacation, I fell even more.
So here's to the best summer evar! Looking at our hundreds of pictures this summer will alwaysalways bring back good memories of the sun, 100+F weather, sweating like hogs, friendship, love, genuine happiness... And "ANG SARAP MABUHAAAAY!" Haha, coz yeah. It's true, it's true. Life is good.
After all this drama, I think I've to get my lazy ass off this chair and start studying for Maternity-Peds. Because I'll be dead once fall semester rolls. The toxic lifestyle of a nursing student all over again. Haha!
